Over $3,500 of food and propane certificates were given for Hopi elders and needy through our Adopt an Elder program.
During our brief visit to Hopi we purchased 100 certificates for propane and 20 $75 certificates for food at the Kykotsmovi store, managed by Tommy and Julie Canyon. We gave Julie 50 propane certificates to hand out as she sees needy families coming into the store.
We also met with Dinah, who operates the Hopi mobile library and new library facility. We gave Dinah most of the food certificates and 40 propane certificates to deliver to elderly who are not always remembered. We are also making plans on helping her develop the Hopi library.
Even though the villages were closed due to Covid, they did allow us to enter twice! We also personally met with Hopi families and blessed them!
