Although international travel is limited, we’ve managed to assist not only Native Americans through our Adopt an Elder program but Tibetan nomads in the Chang Thang as well!Currently we’re working on bringing clean, filtered water to three Tibetan villages in Xining, China. Then, the end of this year we plan on bringing personal solar lights, water filters, and other supplies to Dharmsala, India. If you'd like to join us in some of these projects, go to the PayPal link and donate to any of the areas mentioned. Thank you! We are again partnering with “Luke,” and his work in the Chang Thang and the Tibetan nomads in Northeastern India. He will be there March 12 through 22.
Photos below are of times we've assisted him in the past with LuminAID solar lights and finances to buy food. The solar lights are used to keep the leopards and wolves away from their herds. He not only shares God's love but, together, we will meet their needs in a very practical way. Currently the winter is fierce. Everything is frozen over, and their herds have little to nothing to eat. I’ve sent him $1,400 (106,740 INR) to purchase food for their herds and other supplies. Luke was incredibly grateful, pictures to come. Click the link below if you'd like to help. Thank you! We have picked Martha, a Matriarch living in the Jemez Pueblo. This is the Pueblo we have come alongside to build the cultural preservation building. You can donate towards any future giving towards elders by clicking our PayPal link and designating it towards Adopt an Elder. We are working on creating an Adopt a Village program where we come alongside a village and assist them with any critical needs they may have. Again, use our PayPal link and be sure to designate your gift. You assisted us with amazing generosity as we blessed our Hopi friends this Christmas! Over $5,000 was given in the form of food certificates from Kykotsmovi and Keams Canyon stores! This includes Adopt an Elder, the Shungopavi Christmas party, and miscellaneous gifts. Thank you!!!
There are three projects for Hopi this Christmas: a village Christmas event, food certificates for elderly, and bringing solar lights to families with limited or no electricity. Shungopavi Christmas Event We took part in a financial way for a special village Christmas party on Saturday, December 18. This is a village on Second Mesa that has lost several elders the last 2 years, so this is very timely Adopt an Elder We assisted 14 Hopi elderly with $100+ food certificates from the Kykotsmovi and Keams Canyon store. The elders live in the villages of Bacavi, Old Oraibi, Kykotsmovi, Shungopavi, and Keams Canyon
Solar Lights We will also be providing personal solar lights to families with limited power as well as to the main kivas in different villages. Click here to donate. Thank you! See what your donations are doing in a remote part of the world! The Chang Po are a nomadic Tibetan tribe living in the high altitude Tibetan Plateau in western and northern Tibet (China) extending into southeastern Ladakh, India. At altitudes between 14,000 and 19,000 feet, this area has vast highlands and giant lakes. L-----g has a heart for this people group. Although he really wants me (Jack) to go with him, it's our great privilege to supply him with supplies each time he goes. This time we provided over $1,000 USD which he used to purchase food and supplies for almost 40 families (approximately 120+ people) in this village. Each family received about 90 pounds of food as well as oil, salt, sugar, ginger, tea. Although it rained and snowed when they arrived, nothing was lost. And they are still using the solar lights we gave 2 years ago! 👍 Thank you again for making this possible! |
