Last week we assisted our friend (name withheld) in India, money to purchase supplies for the Tibetan nomads living in the Changtang Tibetan Plateau. They were severely affected by winter snow and lost over half of their yak and sheep. The photographs are of Lobsang bringing the much needed supplies. More about the Changpa, people of the Changtang Plateau. April, 2019 we traveled to Chengdu, then to Lhasa and Gyantse in the Tibet Autonomous Region and ended in Beijing, China. Our two-fold purpose was to bring the first of several Community LifeStraws to Yushu, a Tibetan area near Xining, China, where much of the drinking water is unsafe. We also brought LuminAID solar lights to distribute in Chengdu, Lhasa, Karola and Gyantse. A special thank you to LuminAID, LifeStraw, and everyone who took part in making this, our 7th trip, one of the most memorable ever! We then joined 1st Mesa Day School in their Halloween celebration. I also had a very special meeting with the Hopi Chairman, grateful for the opportunity. During our recent trip (April 3-13, 2017), many personal solar lights (Solight and Secur) were given to people in Lhasa, the Karo La Glacier and farmers in Gyantse and more. We also provided much needed funds for the school for blind children and the food program for Moru Temple in Lhasa where 2,200 traditional Buddhists were on a 45-day prayer.
Thank you Joe, Anna Marie and Nichole for being great team members and able to navigate through very sensitive situations. Thank you also to everyone who made it possible to bless the people living in Tibet. ![]() John C. Claw, Jr., creator of the Great Navajo Nation Seal, passes on at age 82.
